Denise Fauber, Class of 2001, has built a career grounded in people, purpose, and place. A first-generation college gradutate from Leesburg, Ohio, Denise discovered her direction at Wilmington College, where she balanced full-time classes with a part-time job as a bank teller. That early experience ignited a sense of purpose—to serve others through leadership in community banking.
After graduating with a degree in Business Administration and Communication Arts, Denise continued her banking career working for various local banks, where she steadily advanced through a range of leadership roles. Today, she serves as President and COO of Merchants National Bank, guiding the organization through record growth while maintaining its core commitment to local values. Under her leadership, MNB has doubled its since 2016—proving that strong institutions can still stay rooted in the community.
Beyond the boardroom, Denise's purpose shines in her service. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, a graduate of the Community Bankers Association of Ohio’s Emerging Leaders program, and an active volunteer in her hometown—serving as President of the Highland County Children’s Home Board and supporting local schools and organizations.
At every step, Denise has led with intention and integrity. For her, purpose isn’t a milestone—it’s a mindset. And it’s one she continues to live out daily in the same community where her journey began.
